BMS welcomes new lay trustee, Kate Brian

We are delighted to welcome a new lay member to the BMS board of trustees.

Kate Brian is Women’s Voices Lead at the RCOG and a lay member of the Human Fertilisation and Embryology Authority. She is London Representative for the charity Fertility Network UK and edits the Journal of Fertility Counselling. She is also a member of the advisory council of the National Gamete Donation Trust. Kate was a lay representative on the NICE fertility guideline development group and on the update group, and also sat on the HFEA’s expert advisory group on multiple births.

Kate began her career as a television journalist working at the BBC, ITN and Channel Four News, where she specialised in health and science. Kate has written four books about fertility for a lay audience and presented the BBC Radio 4 documentaries Banking on Birmingham and The New Viking Invasion. She still does some work as a freelance journalist and has contributed to a variety of publications from Grazia to The Guardian.
