International Menopause Society Professional Activity for Refresher Training (IMPART) is an online menopause education initiative that is internationally applicable to healthcare professionals working in, or with a special interest in, midlife women’s health.
IMPART provides comprehensive training for healthcare professionals in managing acute menopausal symptoms and the long-term consequences of the changes that occur at menopause. It presents the benefits and risks of menopausal hormone therapy (MHT) and summarises currently available MHT options, as well as the efficacy and safety of complementary therapies for menopause. It provides guidance in midlife preventative health care, including when and what basic health checks should be performed to prevent and detect bone loss and osteoporosis, cardiovascular disease, gynaecological cancers and poor psychological wellbeing.
There are two levels. IMPART Level 1 is comprised of eight modules:
- The Menopause Transition
- Menopause and Its Consequences
- Peri- and Post- Menopausal Bleeding: What Is Normal and What Is Not?
- Basics and Guidelines of Menopausal Hormone Therapy
- Menopausal Hormone Therapy: Benefits and Risks
- Menopausal Hormone Therapy: Pre-Treatment Evaluation
- Complementary Therapy
- Menopause: Case Profiles
Participants complete a series of multi-choice questions at the end of each module. Upon completion, participants receive a certificate and a one-year complimentary Entry Level Associate Membership to the IMS.
IMPART Level 2 is available for individuals who have completed Level 1 and is comprised of eight modules on the following topics:
