The British Menopause Society (BMS) is pleased to announce the launch of a new Instagram page for Women’s Health Concern (WHC), the patient voice of the BMS.

There is a growing concern about the volume of unregulated and, in some cases, inaccurate menopause-related information circulating on social media and other online platforms. This Instagram page has been developed to provide women with an accessible, reliable alternative.

All content published on the page is developed by the BMS, in line with current clinical evidence and consistent with the national and international guidance.

The page will cover a range of topics relevant to perimenopause, menopause and post reproductive health, including hormone replacement therapy (HRT), non-hormonal based treatment options, nutrition, exercise, and emotional wellbeing. Content is intended to support women in understanding their symptoms and the options available to them to help them engage more effectively in conversations with their own healthcare professionals. It is not intended to replace individual clinical advice.

The BMS encourages members and other healthcare professionals to:

  • Follow the Women’s Health Concern Instagram page
  • Support the initiative by engaging with and sharing content where appropriate
  • Signpost patients to the page as a source of reliable, evidence-based menopause information
