The RCOG Menopause Care Special Interest Training Module (SITM) is aimed at learners with an interest in menopause care. It provides training on how to assess and investigate women with menopause-related symptoms, understand the benefits and risks of HRT and alternative therapies, and counsel and advise women accordingly.

As the learner progresses through the Menopause Care SITM, they will learn how to assess and manage abnormal bleeding in peri- and post-menopausal women, and unscheduled bleeding in women on HRT. They will develop the skills to diagnose and manage women with premature ovarian insufficiency. Learners will also participate in educational events to further develop their training. After completing the SITM, doctors will be prepared to take up a leadership role in a menopause service.

Throughout the training, learners will need to reflect on whether a project has gone well, learn from positive and negative experiences, and use this to improve their own skills. Before signing off on the Menopause Care SITM, the Educational Supervisor will decide the level of supervision required for each Menopause Care Capability in Practice (CiP), and whether this has been met.

Full details, including the Menopause Care SITM Curriculum Guide, are available on the RCOG website.
